What solution does your design address? I learn in school about the environment and mental health and I love bees. I wanted a bee theme as it represents positivity and bees are so important in the eco system. I also wanted the message that we all have the power to make the difference.
Why does this solution matter to you? I love bees and I am a positive person. I put sugar in my back garden to attract and feed bees. I like to watch them and they relax me.
My solution is to be mindful of others, be accountable for your actions and be the difference this world needs
What needs to happen to make your solution a reality? Everyone in the world has to bee (🤣) aware how their actions effect the environment and how their words effect people
What solution does your design address? My drawing addresses the issue of logging our old growth forests and the fact that we hold the solution in the palm of our hands. I want people to be aware that it is still happening all around the world.
Why does this solution matter to you? Logging will soon affect all of us if we don’t stop it now. A tree gives life, lets us breathe. They also trap carbon dioxide in their trunks, when a tree is cut down, it is released back into the universe. So logging not only affects their own problem but also others, like climate change because of the carbon dioxide, logging also means animals loose their home which I COMPLETELY stand against. When I have been camping I have been amazed by the surrounding trees' pure beauty and want that factor to stay forever and not just be a memory of what it used to be like. Logging has always been something at the back of my mind because my mother told be about it when I was young. I heard that she and her friends stood up against the chopping down of an old growth forest in the area, they were in jail for the night, but that’s not the point! I want to stand up against logging as well, this is something not many people think about and should be brought to the attention of EVERYONE!
What needs to happen to make your solution a reality? We need to get the laws changed through parliament to make sure we prevent the logging of the old growth forests, as these cannot be regrown, however if we cut down the pine forests we can regrow and plant more seeds, the old growth forests are PRECIOUS and cannot be regrown.
What solution does your design address? My design addresses climate change on a personal and community level. It suggests that we all need to band together for our voices to be heard and action to be taken. But it specifically addresses the people in power to make a change for the better.
Why does this solution matter to you? Because our society thrives of the Earth, and humans are social creatures of habit. If we all come together and unify our beliefs we can change our habits and potentially save our home.
What needs to happen to make your solution a reality? It all starts with an idea, and then communication and then action. So far there is a massive divide in communication between the people and the government. We need to understand each other and act on everyone's best interest.
What solution does your design address? Planting trees to suck down carbon and for animal habitats.
Why does this solution matter to you? Because then the animals will have a place to live even if it doesn't work out for humans. And if does work out, then the trees will suck down carbon and we will have a better place to live.
What needs to happen to make your solution a reality? People stop chopping down trees and everybody plants them.
What solution does your design address? The effect of climate change, by showing that we need to take care of our one and only earth, therefore there’s no planet b
Why does this solution matter to you? Climate change is such a impactful movement, and we need everyone to be aware of the change happening around us, we need to all do something!
What needs to happen to make your solution a reality? One of the many solutions is sustainable living this is my favourite way to help the environment, because I know every day I’m helping to keep this planet healthy.
What solution does your design address? This design addresses people to walk, or to take bike, scooter to school or work instead of taking the car which causes pollution.
Why does this solution matter to you? This solution matters to me because I try my best to not take the car every single day to school and take the tram. I love to participate in Ride2School as month as well as Ride2school day where there are so many activities you can do.
What needs to happen to make your solution a reality? I think if my t-shirt design could win then I believe that could be a start as well as encouraging family members, friends and neighbours to try and use the car as little as possible.
What solution does your design address? Right now, we have climate change because of bad air pollution. It causes wild weather, droughts, floods, coral reefs dying, making people sick and so much more.
That is why trees and plants are so important. They take in carbon dioxide and give out oxygen. We want cleaner air. Instead of cutting trees down, we need to plant more to stop climate change. Apart from that, trees also improve the soil, are homes for the animals, and provide us with food and many other things.
Why does this solution matter to you? There is only one Earth and we have to take care of our planet.
If a fish bowl gets dirty, we will clean it to make sure the fish lives. The Earth is our fish bowl, and we are the fish.
What needs to happen to make your solution a reality? We can all plant more trees. Just put a seedling in the ground and look after it. It is so easy to do.
I volunteered to plant native trees on National Tree Day. If schools and work places made just one day a year a special tree planting day, imagine how much greener we can make the world!
What solution does your design address? Raising awareness about global warming
Why does this solution matter to you? Because global warming does not only influence the world itself but also us, whose inventions cause most of the climate change.
What needs to happen to make your solution a reality? Raising awareness is the first step. Furthermore, taking action when it comes to decreasing the own carbon footprint and the use of plastic or other pollution.
What solution does your design address? My design addresses not wasting electricity and unplugging when need be. A lot of people don’t have access to renewable energy, So the least they can do is make sure they’re not wasting that electricity. This electricity will be created using coal in a factory. That factory will most likely be emitting greenhouse gases, so if we use less electricity, we will make a small but influential change
Why does this solution matter to you? This solution matters to me because it is something everyone can do, each person who lives in a house or apartment can switch their electricity on and off, this means that even though it is a small task it can have a huge impact on climate change. Its difference will help make a better and safer future for not only me, but all children.
What needs to happen to make your solution a reality? People need to be more aware of when is an appropriate time to switch on their lights. Take a sunny day for instance, all we need to do is open our blinds or curtains and voila! Light. But if it’s a dark cloudy night we just need the lights on in the rooms people are using. It’s as simple as that.
